Overview

The Supervisor, Digital Display is accountable for all aspects of the buying, negotiation, implementation, analysis and optimization of the assigned client’s digital campaigns. The Supervisor, Digital Display oversees the entire buying and implementation process of Digital, Digital Ad Operations and Digital Analytics teams.  The Supervisor drives Display strategy, oversees execution including ongoing campaign optimization and post campaign reporting.  The Supervisor, Digital Display is responsible for managing a team – developing their skills, evaluating their performance and managing their growth. In addition to their core account assignments, the Supervisor, Digital Display is expected to take part in larger areas of agency development – aiding with new business pitches, committees and task forces.

Responsibilities

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Media Planning and Execution:

  • Participate in and lead digital media initiatives
  • Work with senior team members to set digital program planning and negotiation strategies
  • Write front end (digital strategies and objectives) of plans and present in collaboration with traditional planning team to client
  • Oversee plan negotiations
  • Act as a final resource for all inventory, billing and invoice discrepancies
  • Act as the internal point person, where appropriate, with Empowering Media's Planning, Insight, & Finance departments
  • Ensure constant communication between Empowering Media and various creative agencies (and other external partners) and ensure brand/team processes align with other brand/teams
  • Develop and maintain time-lines for all projects
  • Balance, prioritize and properly assign work associated with multiple, concurrent projects
  • Serve as a resource for planners and assistants for advice, counsel and mentorship

Client & Internal Relationships:

  • Partners with senior team members to define digital activation and negotiation strategies
  • Builds & maintains strong and trusting relationships with clients, serving as day to day point of contact, responding to all client requests and inquiries
  • Demonstrates a deep understanding of client’s brands, structure, competitive environment and KPIs, making credible recommendations drive their business objectives
  • Works closely with partner agencies, developing & maintaining productive working relationships
  • Serve as the face of the client, working with publishers & vendors
  • Oversee account team(s) providing daily management as well as performance feedback and career development/growth opportunities.
  • Work effectively with internal teams, across channels to execute clients’ strategic plans and provide best in class performance marketing deliverables
  • Lead client meetings, develops and delivers presentations
  • Find opportunities for organic growth of accounts as the digital landscape evolves
  • Work with Senior Leaders to monitor account profitability and ensure accurate billing and forecasting to ensure the financial health of the accounts.
  • Active role in interviewing process for open positions, making recommendations around hiring, promotion, discipline and related personnel actions

Leadership:

  • Provides guidance regarding specific tasks and inquiries from team members
  • Leads by example and acts as a mentor for the more junior team members

Fin Financial Acumen:

  • Responsible for budget, forecasting and reconciliation
  • Maintain accurate budget control and flow of media activity, and proactively, consistently update client contact(s) through periodic analyses and projection reports
  • Leverages support from Analytics team to assist with forecasting when necessary

Delivery:

  • Responsible for operational success of accounts and ensuring deliverables are met on time and on budget
  • Owns all outcomes; maintains regular campaign oversight to ensure performance, delivery and optimizations are on track
  • Track and report on any campaign, partner or client issues and immediate elevate them appropriately
  • Plan, manage and execute digital display campaigns, including but not limited to account setup, strategy development, organization, and management
  • Manage the team’s workload and help prioritize with clients on conflicting deliverables
  • Audit, review and analyze reports, lead optimization efforts to meet campaign objectives and performance
  • Works to collaboratively to translate strategic vision into tactical solutions and results
  • Consistently looks for ways to improve current processes or introduce new approaches that will contribute to success for the Agency and its clients

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in a digital media setting; with cross-channel expertise, specifically in Digital Display Marketing 
  • Experience in creating, selling & managing large scale, complex display campaigns; strong analytical skills and understanding of KPI's for online/digital media
  • Google Display Certification and DFA Personal Trainer Certification are beneficial
  • Expertise with campaign management, ad-serving technology:  Double Click DART, Atlas DMT, Media Mind, DFA Rich Media,
  • Working knowledge of third party Internet marketing research:  comScore Nielsen NetView, etc.
  • Must have experience buying, display, mobile, video, and real time bidding (RTB) inventory
  • Experience with Paid Search Platforms Marin, Kenshoo, DS3; Google Analytics and AdWords Certifications are beneficial
  • Understanding of broad based business principles including: sales, pricing, workflow management, and operations
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, and excellent communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Bachelor’s degree required
