The Senior Director, Paid Search is responsible for the development of best in class strategies and management of all paid search accounts within an office or group of offices. This is a key role that reports directly to Head of Paid Search. The Senior Director will provide leadership across the business and teams within an office or group of offices, working closely with the Group Account Directors and Account Directors in Client Services, and liaising with other channel leads to ensure an integrated response to marketing objectives.


  • Responsible for all paid search performance and team within the office(s)
  • Working closely with Head of Paid Search, develop and evangelize overall iP paid search strategy and approach
  • Manage client relationship as it relates to paid search
  • Ensure best practice, consistency, and innovation in all paid search activities; ensure knowledge-sharing across teams
  • Ensure the paid search teams are working collaboratively with client services to manage client relationships as related to paid search strategy, team and performance
  • Manage and develop direct reports; accountable for complete team development
  • Act as point of escalation for broad client issues or needs
  • Liaise with other channels leaders and the other Paid Search Senior Directors
  • Contribute to new business development when required
  • Exhibit leadership across teams and agency; Role model of the DAN Values



  • Exceptional knowledge of paid search, market development and trends
  • Broad range of experience managing across verticals and direct response/branded campaigns
  • Strong managerial experience, including experience developing and mentoring a multi-level team
  • Well-honed communication skills with senior audiences
  • Ability to think strategically and identify and resolve problems in a client-centric environment.
  • Ability to nurture and retain client and employee relationships
  • Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with financial data and budgets
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs and recommendations to solve client challenges
  • High levels of integrity, autonomy, and self-motivation
